For the Steak

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Topping

  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 23 tbsp balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Marinate the steak: In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, balsamic vinegar, garlic, salt, and pepper. Rub mixture over steaks and let sit at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
  2. Preheat grill: Heat your grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Grill the steak: Cook steaks for 4–5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness. Remove from grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. Assemble toppings: Place sliced mozzarella and tomatoes over the warm steak. Top with fresh basil leaves.
  5. Finish with glaze: Drizzle balsamic glaze over the steak and toppings just before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of sea salt over the tomatoes before serving.
  • You can make your own balsamic glaze by simmering balsamic vinegar until thickened.
